Following the GovSatCom Conference on the 23d of February, Luxinnovation (with the support of the Luxembourg Directorate of Defence), the Belgium Security and Defence Industry Association (AGORIA/BSDi) as well as the Netherlands Defence and Security Industry Association (NIDV) will launch the first BeNeLux “Space4Defence” Industry Day, which will take in the European Convention Center Luxembourg on the 24th of February 2023 (09:00 -15:00)
The BeNeLux Industry Day is an exploration event in view of future collaboration in the frame of the European Defence Fund-EDF (European Commission) and the European Defence Agency -EDA ’s CapTech Space. In the presence of the representatives of the Ministries of Defence, the European Defence Agency (EDA) and the European Commission (EDF), companies and research centres from the BeNeLux are invited to learn about the respective national space defence strategies and initiatives, EDA’s CapTech Space as well as the Space-related call for proposals if the European Defence Fund.
A follow-up “BeNeLux Space4Defence” Event is going to take place at the International Aeronautics and Space Exhibition Paris-LeBourget 19-21 June 2023 with the support of the respective Ministries of Defence.
For who?
Are you active in the Defence industry as a company, a small or medium sized enterprise, or a research organization? The BeNeLux “Space4Defence” Industry Day Matchmaking event is interesting for both private as well as public parties that are interested in the European Defence Fund. The day will also feature a separate session to stimulate international collaboration related to the Defence industry.
The European Defence Fund
The EDF is a European research and innovation program for cutting edge Defence research and development which spans from 2021 until 2027.
With this program the European Commission aims to:
- Improve cooperation and interoperability between member states;
- Reduce capability shortages within the EU; and
- Strengthen the Defence-technological and industrial presence within the EU.
The EDF offers financial support at all stages of development: starting with research and ending with the development of prototypes and certification.

- Share insights about the latest technological developments.

All attendees are welcome to attend the GovSatCom 2023 – EU Conference for Security and Defence on the 23rd of February (free entry) where all SpaceDefence relevant domain will be addressed within high level discussion panels.
